Our Goal is Long Horns!

XC Longhorns began almost two years ago when two long time buddies, Larry Crumpton and Joe Cunningham, decided to go into the cattle business. They would settle for nothing less than the best and their interest was drawn to Longhorn cattle.  From a meager beginning of six cows, the herd has now grown to over 60 cows and calves and an XCiting herd bull—2006 Horn Showcase Winner from the Jones Ranch in Colorado—JR Spotlight. 

J.R. Spotlight is only one example of the XCitement we have at the prospect of our latest herd additions.  Strong emphasis on Gunman genetics and bloodline can be seen in the cows and heifers at XC Longhorns.  Several have been AI’d to XCeptional sires in the industry (MC Super Rex and JP Rio Grande) and calves are beginning to hit the ground.  Spotlight’s photo above gives you an idea of his stature, confirmation and XCellent horns.

The XC Longhorns are located in Central Texas at Peoria on Hwy 22, ten miles west of Hillsboro, and 10 miles east of Whitney.  Larry and Pam Crumpton live at Peoria on CR2421 and raise some of the XC Longhorns there.  Although Joe and Mary Ann Cunningham live in Hillsboro, six miles down from the Crumptons on SH 1947 you will find the Cunningham ranch where the rest of the XC Longhorns will be found.  Click on the Contact Us button below for addresses and phone numbers to arrange seeing this XCiting herd of longhorns.
